Assignment 4: Complementary Colors
Take a photo for this assignment that demonstrates a complementary color scheme. The coloring should come from the way you set up the shot, not from photoshop work done to the photo. This should be a new photo taken for this assignment.
1. Make sure the image is in focus, without camera shake. If it's blurred, reshoot it - no point in turning it in just to get a zero on it.
2. Think about composition. Where is the focus? Is there background clutter that is distracting? Think about the environment as well as the subject itself. I want more than a close-up of one solid square of color, I want the photo itself to be interesting in addition to having the right color scheme.
3. Save the image for the web (save as a jpg for photos, and rotate so it is upright if necessary). File should be 600 pixels wide or less, and file size is 50k or less. Reply to this thread with a post that includes your photo.
Objectives:
Demonstrating an understanding of complementary color schemes.
Grading rubric:
3 points total
2 - Demonstration of complementary color scheme
1 - composition and technical skill.
