Learning to ask questions to draw out responses during an interview.

The person I interviewed name is Molly. She goes to Art Academy in the Woods where she in the 10th grade. Her major is 2D art and her minor is digital imaging 1. She like listening to all type of music especially the older music. She wants to go to college and own her own photography shop.

Marquita Johnson attends Arts Academy in the Woods. She lives in Detroit, MI. Her favorite candy is Reese’s peanut butter cups. Her favorite color is orange. Her favorite Actress is Tarji P. Henson. Her favorite actor is Will Smith. Her favorite movie is Poetic Justice. Her favorite television show is The Game. She plans to attend WCCCD for a year then transfer to a university. Laura

Laura is a junior at Arts Academy in the Woods. She is a theatre major and a vocal minor. She is currently playing the role of Mrs. Darbus in the Repretory theaters latest musical “High School Musical”. Her favorite musical is Sweeney Todd. Laura is especially fond of Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt. She doesn’t follow a religion. If she could choose any vegetable to worship it would be a watermelon. She lives in a house and has an orange cat. She has a twin brother named Chris. If she could write a science book it would be called “You and me, and the life we live”.



My main point of focus was her interests. Religion is important to me so I asked what she believed in; and I asked what vegetable she would worship as a fun question.

Kara is an 18 year old student at Warren Woods Tower, who seems to be fairly conservative about more social issues. Although she didn’t directly state this some subtle remarks she made led me to this conclusion. At one point we started discussing voting and politics which led to the topic of Prop. 8 being past in California .at the last election. She did not recall off the top of her head what Prop. 8 concerned, but later remembered and responded with negative remarks about gay marriage, involving a lot of “ick”s. I asked her if she knew anybody this law might affect. She explained how she doesn’t have anything against people being gay, she just feels they don’t need to announce it or get married. I tried to keep my opinion on the issue out of conversation and made sure it did not affect her response. Our conversation tipped to the new president for a moment and it was fairly clear that she was not a fan of his values, ideas, or color.
