In "The Walking Life" I believe they used animation to express feeling and things more dramastically. Say for example I was angry. Now being human my face wouldn't turn steamy red and you wouldn't see smoke or flames coming out. By this being an animation they were free to add things like that. They could add detail that wasn't shown from just a regular movie. If a man felt like he was floating, then in the animation he was really floating. The animation and the detail of the animation was outstanding. It was very detailed and looked neat and brought a lot of life out into the movie. It made it more interesting and express everything a lot better than I think a regular film would have done. It was good.

In the movie "Waking Life" the young boy in the film was going around asking people about life and people was telling him it all was just a dream.I think they didnt use real people in he movie because you get to express you self through drawing. They movie was good because people eyes were getting big and moving around they face was moving when it wasnt suppose to.I really enjoy the film.In one scene the man told him if he try to turn on a light switch if it dont come on then he is in a dream. He tryed and then he begin to float in the air. I thought that was amazing and creative. Some people hit they self to see it they are awake . But you should just try to switch on a light and if the light come on then your not dreaming. Another thing in the movie is when the man was sitting on the ground and he was telling about whats done happen in the futher, after he said that he set his self on fire. i really didnt understand that. I really enjoy this film.

Waking Life

I think that the maker of "Waking Life" used animation is to symbolize the character. That way by using animation the producer could make it the way he wanted to and not have actors do the parts cause they might not do it the way he would like it. The maker could make the backround where he wanted it instead of finding places to shoot it of make the places to shoot it. I think that since it was like a dearm that i was more like a dream by animating it.

I have a few ideas on why the creators would want the movie to be animated. The creator of the movie might have wanted to save some money. I mean it seems way cheaper to do an animation then a live film. Another thing that the creator might have wanted to do is give it that beyond real look to the whole movie. Like the animator wanted to make it on the edge of fantasy and reality. The last thing about the animation was that they might have wanted you to forget about what the person looked liked and wanted you to focus more on what they were saying. Like how some of them were giving real words of wisdom but their character was just being deformed.

The cartoon characters in the, Waking Life, movie helps to tell more of a story. The characters in the animation made me focus more on the movie, instead of on other things. I think that the artist used the pen tool for a dreamy idea of the story. In some scenes, the image was kind of flip floppy, which are how some dreams are. I like the mixture of colors with the background music because it interests me. The movie is an attention grabber because I was focused on what would happen next. The cartoon characters have a different way of telling and showing the story. Overall the movie is a piece of art work.

Waking life is an interesting movie with a lot of interesting features on the animation. I think it wouldn’t have been as good if it wasn’t animated. I think because it is animated they can stress the emotions of people and how they act. I think it would be kind of boring if it did not have animation because then all it would really be is like a lecture.

In "Waking Life" I believe that they used animation because the main character is traveling through dreams, and like dreams, animation has no limits. With animation you have more freedom to explore you're imagination and bring your characters to life, instead of hiring actors who are similar to your characters. Using animation brings passion and emotion into the movie. The characters can express themselves more with animation, for example, in the quintet scene, the music had a bit of a happy yet mellow wave sound to it. The musicians, being in tuned with their music, were wavey and their hair seemed to move like they were underwater. It also seemed like the writers used animation to capture the viewers attention. Most people would find this movie slightly boring, and i believe that half of the viewers would not have watched it if it had not been animated, though i personally enjoyed the movie. I also believed animation was used to get you to understand that the main character was dreaming, if they hadn't used animation it might have been a little hard to tell whether he was dreaming or not. Over all i think the movie was phenomenal.

I believe they used the animation to catch are eye, they could add things in the movie that couldn’t happen in real life,
The whole movie is based on dreams, what you could do, where you can go, what you can see when you dream, by doing the movie like that they had a lot more to work with. If they didn’t use animation to the movie I do believe it would of have been boring, But by adding animation it make's the movie more interesting to the viewer.
The movie had an interesting story to it, but it was kind of confusing to me, they skip around and you don’t know when he’s dreaming or not.
Movie was good overall.

In the movie Walking Life, I think the people who made it used animation rather then real people because it showed a cartoon or unrealistic aspect. For example, they changed character’s shadows in a lot of the scenes and I think it showed more of the character in the moment. They added more animation that could not be in a movie with real people. For example, when they were talking about god, the guys hand was very powerful and holy. The colors in the movie were also very bright and dramatic. In one scene a charter gets upset and his face turns bright red. And in other scenes the colors change depending on the mood. Overall, I really like the movie. I think without the animation it would be to hard to follow along with what the characters are talking about.

I thought that the movie, "Waking Life" was pretty good. I think that they used animation to illustrate and emphasize the characters emotions by using different color on their body or changing shape. I thought that is was a good idea to use animation in lieu of live action, plus, it added a few laughs.

The way this movie was done is great. I can’t even think how long it took to finish. The first day if they did the film with real people then went back and made them a cartoon. The second day in class that they did film the movie first with real people.
I think they decided to animate it the way they did is to show people what can be done. It is good and looks as if it took a lot of time.
Another reason why I think they chose to animate the way they did is because they could show facial expressions and features on the face.
And show what people were thinking on the face like for example if someone was mad their faces would be red or they would have steam coming out of them.
i learned alot from the movie i never knew that could be done like that

Waking Life is is one of great movies , I believe that the director wanted to use this typy of
stlye for this film. Because he wanted to show morre things that was more direct to
what was said and what they was doing. I also believe thatt he wanted to use colors
such as when a character would get mad he would ues a dark red on the character
face.
