Assignment 15: end of week review Due Dec 19

Post  Admin on Fri Dec 19, 2014 8:51 am

LABEL YOUR RESPONSE WITH PARTS 1, 2, 3 & 4
Studio Work

Part 1. Upload new work. If it's photoshop work, upload it as a jpg, not a psd. If it's a movie file or animation, export and upload it in a compressed format (don't give me a file that requires me to open it in adobe premiere or final cut). You can upload to youtube and link it here.

Reflecting:

Part 2.Self-critique: What is working well in this week's work? What would you like to improve, or develop further?

Part 3. Identify new skills you worked on during the week. (For example, I know one student learned to rotate brushes in photoshop.)

Looking forward:

Part 4. Identify at least one new skill will you work on/develop next week.

1)

~The colors will be made use of~

All images are my own, from lighting to location.

Not colored version.
2)
This week I worked with Photoshop lighting, making pictures for my personal portfolio, and the yearbook. I experimented with creating a Lomo and HDR effects. These have been popular in Music and book covers from albums to bestsellers, giving a retro look of a faded time gone by. These color spread were achieved as the Kodachrome camera's ink began to age, the chemicals mixing and blurring the image in areas, often with red dots towards areas of the image which were darker than others.
I am quite happy with the way the second image turned out, the texture and lighting effects make it look quite believably to be an older image. The first however does not have the right amount of red to make a true Lomo, but the image lost quality with the extra red. Instead I tried to focus on making a HDR/Lomo effect, using blue as the main set of color scheme. As with the other image the colors that are not predominant fade, but this makes the image stand out more. A retro image with an Iphone, the irony.

3)
This week I learned more about curves, hidden tools in the bottom right corner, and some hidden tools for when it comes to transformation. I also am quite proud to have learned some keys that will truly save layers on my images. The command "Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E" allows for a screen-cap of your work, making a composite that can be changed as one layer. I also learned how to rename layers, and more about how "Folders" can save you time and energy.

4)
As it is quite fun, and often shows more helpful commands to make Photoshop life more simple (Ctrl + D to swap colors scheme) I would like to continue to make retro images. However, I will be going for Vintage instead of Lomo, a more 1910's-20's theme. And for when I am done, I will look up more effects that can make an image of a person more unique, as who wants to look at a plain face when it comes to media- the fictional world.

4th hour:
1.
2. I think it came together better then my first attempts but it's actually more glitchy then it should be due to youtube not processing right (There's a good part that just freezes)
3. I worked on some video glitch art by using audacity's Import raw feature.
4. I Would like to work more with different techniques of art forms like glitch art and different ways to do it.

6th hour.

2. The piece came together good but could use some improvement.
3. I worked on using the color replacement tool in Photoshop in different ways to distort things.
4. I would like to learn different brushes in Photoshop I have not used or have used expensively

This week I created title sequences from scratch for the anniversary video I created for AJ and Kristina. In addition to making these titles, I finished editing the project on Final Cut Pro X last night. I will try to post a link over the break, it was just such a big file that I didn't have time to upload it last night.

Part 2. i think I've done a good job of getting my work finished on time and making a quality product that I'm happy with. I wish I had checked for typos because there are a few subtle ones.

Part 3. Duplicating settings/effects onto multiple compositions.

Part 4. Sleeping

The image i am using currently.

3. In this weeks work i am trying to make palm trees the same exact size as all the other palm trees.
4. Next i will continue to work on putting more detail into the picture by adding a small sun tho make it look like a summery picture.

Part 1.
Monday I was not here due to it being the last day of my college class.

Tuesday I worked on the video for the showcase some. I did spelling checks and I made sure that all of the photos were at least 4 seconds. For the remainder time I assisted with folding the programs.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday I was not here.

Part 2. I was able to gain some extra experience with adobe premiere and refresh what I learned last year.

Part 3. I learned how to use the repeat tool in premiere.

Part 4. Next week I will find more things to learn in Adobe InDesign.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.I put more effort this week towards my work and actually felt inspired to some extent I worked with even tricking the human eye

3.I worked on creating some art from complete scratch no images at all and i created an illusion when you scroll past the neon piece (if you use the mouse scroll wheel and go up and down the words appear to not move

4. I want to work with just taking pictures and working with that since i tend to avoid camera use
