Assignment 16: Spirit Day photo from Friday (formal day or fall ball) due Oct 26
For the yearbook, we will be taking spirit week photos.
1. Make sure the image is in focus, without camera shake. If it's blurred, reshoot it - no point in turning it in just to get a zero on it.
2. Consider composition, color, lighting and the creativity of your photo. Think about how you want your people to pose.
3. Save the FULL SIZE image on your computer - we'll be needing these for the yearbook.
4. Save the image for the web (save as a jpg for photos, and rotate so it is upright if necessary). File should be at least 500 pixels in height or width, but no more than 600 pixels in either direction, and file size is 50k or less. Reply to this thread with a post that includes your photo.
Objectives:
Learning to think creatively within a set of guidelines (very typical of how we work in a design studio with clients)
Assessing your own photos (be your own quality control)
Practice working with file sizes and dimensions to help you become more conscious of how you are saving your files based on their intended use.
Grading rubric:
4 points.
1 - Taking the photo in focus
1 - Creativity
1 - Color
1 - Composition
