"Mona Lisa" was painted by Leonardo da Vinci between 1503-1517. This painted during the High Renaissance and Renaissance period. This period had many characteristics including classicism, realism, depth, individualism, etc. Da Vinci was known for his architecture, mathematics, sculpting, painting, etc. The artist's general subject matter was Lisa del Giocondo. The thing that pops out most and is most significant, is her slight mysterious smile.

Thomas Lawrence (1769- 1830) is the artist responsible for the 1794 painting entitled "Pinkie". As being a part of the Romanticism Era, it includes features such as radiant colors, curved shapes and expressive brush strokes. Lawrence specialized in portraits especially of women. In this work, there are elements of nature. There is little negative space as the girl, Pinkie, is taking up the majority of the canvas.

The artist of this painting is an unknown Bohn Master. The title of the painting is "Young Beethoven". The painting was was made in 1783. I do not believe "Young Beethoven" was a part of any art movement in particular. To my knowledge, there is no other works done by the unknown artist. Beethoven as a young child is painted, shown smiling slightly.

This painting is called "Rotunda' by John Trumbull. It was painted in 1817. It wasn't really apart of an art movement, painted a scene of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I'm guessing his subject matter
was to capture the moment we got our independence. I think he just wanted to stay real to the scene really.

The painter is John Waterhouse its reproduction was by Alexei King. The title of the painting is called Bluebird Ophelia. It was painted in 1889. The historical art movement it was part of was Romanticism and characteristics of the art movement was the Romantic era is the historical period of literature in which modern readers most begin to see a reflection of themselves and their own modern conflicts and desires. Waterhouses general subject matter was of strong and beautiful female figures. The major element of design that i see is the background of the painting its very calm with calm colors like green and pops of white it is also a little dark with the black and brown. This picture basically tells its own story.

Claude Monet painted as an impression of France in 1893 painting I think the texture is the most important part of the painting how In the middle It so smooth and then on the edges it has that real ruff look to it.

The Painter of my art is Peter Blake he made a self-portrait call "Self-Portrait with Badges". It was painted in 1961. The historical art movement he was part of was the British art pop. In Britain, the movement was more academic in its approach. While employing irony and parody, it focused more on what American popular imagery represented, and its power in manipulating people’s lifestyles. The 1950s art group The Independent Group (IG), is regarded as the precursor to the British Pop art movement.Peter's subject matter shows his equal respect for historical tradition and modern popular culture. He may have based this image on Thomas Gainsborough’s famous portrait The Blue Boy, his blue fabric is not silk but denim – a material associated at the time with American youth culture. The major element of design I see in the painting is how American it is. At the time in America this is normal, you can tell Peter was interested in our culture.

http://www.artic.edu/aic/collections/artwork/111628 <---- Nighthawks

Nighthawks is a 1942 oil on canvas painting by Edward Hopper that portrays people in a downtown diner late at night. It is Hopper's most famous work and is one of the most recognizable paintings in American art. The main subject of this painting is Loneliness. As in the picture inside the dinner it shows a man sitting at the bar by himself. It has a timeless, universal quality that transcends its particular locale.

The Lady With the Veil was painted in 1768, by Alexander Roslin. The portrait isn't from any particular art movement. Roslin tends to paint portraits of woman. Some characteristics of The Lady Wit the Veil are the low saturated colors throughout it besides the red color in her gloves.

Wassily Kandinsky is a amazing Russian artist from (1866-1944) he was one of the best artist from the 20th century ,Harmony Squares With Concentric
Rings (1913) , it is a example of his non-object work the point behind it was just shapes and emotions these shapes make up things but there still obviously single shapes layered on top of each other.

The major element of design I see in the painting is how American it is we wear more denim and casual wear and when one may think of Britain they might think of like professional or "nicer" clothes maybe? At the time in America this is normal, you can tell Peter was interested in our culture.
