Assignment 1: Weekly update 2/5/16

Post  Admin on Fri Feb 05, 2016 9:16 am

Part 1. Upload your new work from this week. If it's photoshop work, upload it as a jpg, not a psd. If it's a movie file or animation, export and upload it in a compressed format (don't give me a file that requires me to open it in adobe premiere or final cut). You can upload to youtube and link it here.

Reflecting:

Part 2.Self-critique: What is working well in this week's work? What would you like to improve, or develop further?

Part 3. Identify new skills you worked on during the week. (For example, I know one student learned to rotate brushes in photoshop.)

Planning:

Part 4. Identify at least one new skill will you work on/develop next week.

1)

And I worked on the PA cover.

2)
This week I worked with sending out, collecting the final photos, and talking with Jackie Falbo about the printing. I have finished all of that, and I'm taking more photos now so that's a good week.

3)
This week I learned more about saving PDF files, transferring to printers, getting in touch with people who don't wish to be bothered, and I GOT MY SILVER KEY AT THE SCHOLASTIC AWARDS! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

4)
Next week I'll work on some photo editing, make something a bit weird. I don't really make anything abstract.

Made a cover for a mix cd I'm making my gf for valentine's day  What a Face

2- I think they came out pretty cool. I wish the cassette tape on the cover looked more realistic because that's kind of what I tried to go for initially, but I kind of dig the cartoon feel it has now.

3- This week I polished my design skills in Photoshop (layout, color scheme, etc.)

4- Next week I hope to work on skills in After Effects and Photoshop.

Right now, I'm learning how to animate.
This is an example but sadly it won't animate.
I have also learned how to resize, so be ready for that as well
I will work on this skill next week.

During this week, we watched the movie "The Gleaners and I" and I worked with the school board on a side project. Here is an envelope and letter design that I'm currently working on.

2) So far, I'm liking how its coming out. There can't be too large of a design on either as there needs to be a space for text. Maybe i could have had a more dynamic design to go with it, but they are happy with it.

3) Sadly, this week, I learned the proper layout of an envelope. Its not something I've had to do recently, so I just didn't know. Neutral
Oh well...

4)I plan on learning how to make a design that can be printed on different sides of an envelope, as I'm going to be designing a donation envelope this weekend.

Art of one of my characters in another artist's style. Tribute to artist Jack Kirby. This is just a one off kinda thing. Next week it's back to learning how to do dynamic shading and lighting effects.

i mainly just tried to mess around with adobe illustrator, and learn key shortcuts and how the system operates, and then started to mess around with creating vector shapes and started making ribbons, to get used to the tools and how and where everything is. going from here to work on work for my friend, creating some banners and overlays for his gaming channel.
