Assignment 4: Weekly update 3/11/16

Post  Admin on Fri Mar 11, 2016 9:06 am

Part 1. Upload your new work from the last two (short) weeks. If it's photoshop work, upload it as a jpg, not a psd. If it's a movie file or animation, export and upload it in a compressed format (don't give me a file that requires me to open it in adobe premiere or final cut). You can upload to youtube and link it here.

Reflecting:

Part 2.Self-critique: What is working well in this week's work? What would you like to improve, or develop further?

Part 3. Identify new skills you worked on during the week. (For example, I know one student learned to rotate brushes in photoshop.)

Planning:

Part 4. Identify at least one new skill will you work on/develop next week.

1)

2)

This week's photo hunt went well, and I was able to enter the Anton Art Center art competition, and the Birmingham art competition. The only thing I wish I could change is to reduce the amount of noise in the photos which were taken in darker parts of the science center.

3)

This week I took photos in dark areas, worked with exposure compensation, and the new forum update.

4)

Next week I want to work on my yearbook personal pages, as well as uploading photos which the yearbook team can use on every page.

2. I wasn't able to do much of what i wanted to do this week but i was able to take a small portion of these logos and create a full version (they were released as a teaser and not in their full design) using shapes, paths and image clipping.

3. in what i was originally trying to do, i learned more about color schemes and contrasting colors to make it stand out more, and learned some same skills with the logos

4. next week i plan to actually be able to work on what i originally wanted with colors and shapes all adding together to create a giant picture

So what I did id drew my alternate self and memeifyed her.
I learned how to you the Lens Flare and the Liquify tool, so that's two things I've learned to use.
So um...
This is from the WAKE ME UP meme.
I'll see what else I can do.

I worked on motion graphics for the TV announcement display in After Effects and Photoshop.

2: I like how the color scheme and overall aesthetic came out, although it is rather simple.

3: I learned how to use the time stretch tool in After Effects and sharpened my use of other skills. Also, I used this website to build my color scheme: https://color.adobe.com/ I will definitely be using it in the future, it's really useful.

4: Next week I hope to work on more motion graphics templates for Dr. Mitchell.

1.) Last week, I finished my work with the school board, so I didn't really have a project to work on; so I just looked around the internet for random Photoshop tutorials to become more familiar with different tools. I tried using the 3D section of Adobe Photoshop, as I said I would last week, but it lead to tons of errors and problems with limits of the computer (I guess). This is the tutorial I followed this week:
          http://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/create-apple-photoshop--psd-336

2.) Everything in the picture was made in Photoshop, no other photos were used. While I did followed a tutorial for this picture, I'm very happy with how it came out. It looks like an apple, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

3.) I taught myself the proper use of filters and gradients to add textures to a design. I've also learned how to warp images and textures to look like a 3 dimensional object as you can see with the light dots on the apple.

4.) I plan on searching for more random tutorials to help better my knowledge of what Adobe Photoshop has to offer, unless I find inspiration to design something else.

giraffes

Post  BlakeM on Thu Mar 17, 2016 1:57 pm

I like the spots on the giraffe. I still want to make a more solid of line. Working on adding textures with different brushes.

I want to start using the line tool maybe over top of my sketches, then delete the sketch layer.

I have been working on new skills for my calendar. What has been working well this week is my typography skills I have been working on improving. I will continue to work on new skills like the double exposure technique

I am also helping to complete the multimedia pages in the yearbook.
