Assignment 11: Quotations (typography) Due Oct 19

Directions:
1. Using one of your favorite quotes, design a poster or postcard with the quote and appropriate graphics.
2. Post your final image here.
3. Explain how your font selection and placement helps to convey the mood of the quote.
4. State whether the graphics/photos are your own or from another source. If they are from another source, link the source.

The choice of the font selection was use to depict night and day contrast

The graphic was drawn by me in photoshop

I chose this font because it has a dark feel to it and I placed it skewed to more depict the twisted subtleties of the quote with the shadow to add depth to it.

The photo is a design of mine in photoshop.

I chose this font because I thought it represented something different like my quotes.

The image behind the quote is just something I came up with.

I chose this font type because it has a very elegant feel about it, no matter what you are typing. The placement of the words and also the spider make the poster look very inspirational, but still with an edge of humor to it.

The spider image and the splatters are not mine, but I did do the background with the gradient tool.

I felt that this quote, short and simple as it is, is fitting for our school. I reduced the translucency of the text to add a somewhat airy, whimsical looks, conveying a sense of fantasy. The bright teal also contrasts nicely with the dark purples and dim grays. The strokes of purple and splotches of teal add a spontaneous feeling to the quote as well.

I use this font to make it stand out .Also for the backround I use dark 3-d bold sceme.

I'm not sure who made this quote ,but this design is all my own.

I choose this font type because it conveys the message with a calm sense in the smooth lines and relaxing letters that are easy on the eyes. It gives the hint of peace, which ties into the quote by Mahatma Gandhi. The quote is by Mahatma Gandhi, who is saying here that fighting and getting 'even' or taking your revenge will only make the world blind from what really matters.

The picture is by me, Which I used Photoshop to make.

I chose this font because I thought that flowers were elegant yet the choice of brown and black as the colors show a rather ugly and not so elegant scheme, rather contradictory to convey the quote. The image I chose was one that I have taken myself.

I chose the font 'Century Gothic' because I didn't want a font that was too distracting and hard to read. I also didn't want to make the text distract from the background (Which I got here: Click! ). I chose a soft background instead of an action background, because I found the quote inspirational and I wanted more focus on the text rather than the image (That is why I placed the text in the center.) I also added a border around the text since it was hard to find an appropriate color that looked well and didn't blend in with the background and the border makes that easier.

The choices of fonts I used was something that was simple && peaceful but at the same time noticible to catch someone's eye.I think it shows the sweetness of the quote since it's about the true meaning of friendship.

I chose to change the font on the word "facts" to better convey the strict nature of the word.
The backround image of the clouds was from www.morguefile.com, but I created the rest of the design.
