Last assignment of the year for seniors! (except the final project)

Take a photo of some kind of food, and identify at least two tips or strategies you used from the article you summarized. You will post your photo, plus the description of the strategies.

4 points total - 3 for the photo, 1/2 point each for identification of the two strategies.

I tried a few strategies from the article I read. I used a foiled board across from the light source. I used one that was gold and it added a nice color to the picture. I also turned off m flash which made the shadows more prominent. I tried diffusing the light with a thin paper and that worked well.

The two strategies I used was not using my camera's flash and using the natural lighting, and also editing the brightness and white balance in photoshop.

The first strategy I used was composition: I made sure there was no clutter around the food and that it was a neat looking photo. The second strategy I used was lighting: I used natural light from the window and some artificial lights, not using the flash on my camera.

-Digital Food Photography Tip #2 - Crop in tightly. This makes it easier to see the details, and removes the chances of needing props. You can focus on the main subject a lot easier without any distraction. Moving in closer lets you see the texture and detail of the food better.

-Digital Food Photography Tip #4 - Add a little oil. Oil brushed on things makes them look hot, even if their not, and makes things look wet too. Oil also makes things last longer on the plate. If youíre going to use oil, donít overdue it. Remember, not everything on a plate should be shinny.

Tip #3: FINDING THE MISSING INGREDIENT
When I took the shot of the peanut butter crackers alone, I didn't like it very much. So I thought an apple in the center would make a difference.
Tip #4: EVEN STRONGER IMAGE
Instead of having the focus on the Peanut butter crackers and the apple. I decided to focus more on the apple, than focusing on the crackers.

Tip 1: Use props! I used an apple cutter and a cutting board in this picture to make it more visually pleasing.
Tip 2: Get close! I got closer to the food and used my macro setting to sharpen the image.

Tip: Never use the flash when taking pictures of food, it's unflattering. And you can't get as many details.
it's all about the good natural lighting.

Tip 2: you have to understand the temperature of the picture, sometimes you'll take a picture and it'll be too warm, or too cold. So try for a neutral white balance.

Assignment 18: Food Photography Due May 24 Window10

Tip 1: Crop it tightly so there isn't any distracting background items. You want the main focus to be on the food, not the stuff in the background.
Tip 2: Don't ever use flash. Instead, move around to find the most flattering light source to make the food more appealing.

Get the Right Lighting: avoid using artificial flash/lighting in order to make the food look more natural.
Try Different Angles: close ups and birds eye view are always best when photographing food.

1. I found an area with nice natural lighting.
2. The background was neutral colored and blurred for a non-distracting look.

As an alternate assignment, I was working on revising and correcting the archive pages. I finished 2001-2002, 2002-2003, 2003-2004 and checked all of the links and spelling, and fixed the format.
