Good afternoon!  We are proud to announce the 10th Annual Clinton Township Festival of the Senses Art Fair, which will take place on September 24th and 25th.  As in year’s past, we are once again holding a Student Art Board Contest, in which participants are given a 4’ x 4’ board/canvas and are asked to create their own original piece of artwork, interpreting a particular theme.  This year’s theme is “Art Fills Our Senses”.  In addition to providing the boards, we are also able to provide paint and toner if needed.  This is done completely free of charge! 
If you or your students are interested, we simply need a count of how many boards and paints are needed.  We will then arrange for staff members to drop off the materials to the school.  Once completed we will arrange for a date to pick the finished boards up.  We would like to plan on delivering the boards by the middle of March and are asking that all boards be returned by June 3rd.  Once we receive the completed boards they will be displayed on the fence line along Romeo Plank Rd. (between Clinton River Rd. and Canal).  The artwork will be displayed during our annual Fireworks and Concert event, and during the month of September.  In addition, entries will be included on our website at http://ctfestivalofthesenses.org/student-art-board-contest.html.  Entries from 2015 are currently listed. 
Winner(s) will be selected and shall be awarded a cash prize.  Winning entries will be selected by the Art Committee and/or public voting. 
Below are a few things to keep in mind when the students are creating their boards:
·         They will be exposed to the elements, so please use materials that will withstand all weather conditions.
·         Small grommets will be placed in the corners, in order to attach them to the fence.
·         Please have students label their board with their name and the name of their school.

We have been honored to partner with local schools in the past and hope to continue this tradition, as we believe in the importance of encouraging creative outlets in our schools.  This is the perfect opportunity to do so, and again this program is completely free to the students and schools.  We on the committee truly love seeing the unique artistic expressions of so many students, as does the community.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.  Additionally, I have attached a brief flyer outlining some of the details, in case you wanted something to hand out to your students.  We hope to hear from you soon!  Take care!

Each year Clinton Township hosts the Festival of the
Senses Art Fair, featuring over 100 artists, specialty food
vendors, local restaurants, entertainment, historical
demonstrations and children’s activities. In addition we
partner with local schools to feature the original artwork
of local students. During July and September, entries
will be hung on the fence line along Romeo Plank Rd.
(between Clinton River Rd and Canal), as well as
featured on our website.
We will provide the blank art boards and necessary
paints for free. If interested please keep the following
information in mind.
• Boards are 4’x4’ in size.
• They will be displayed outdoors and exposed to the
elements, please ensure that all materials can
withstand harsh weather conditions.
• The theme “Art Fills Our Senses” should be
interpreted within the artwork.
• Each artists name and name of their school should
be noted on the back of the board.
• Grommets will be placed in corners, please plan
your artwork accordingly.
• Boards will be delivered to schools in March and
completed entries will be picked up by June 3rd.
• Winners will be selected and awarded a cash prize.
